About Me
For a long time, I've loved music and desired to play. It always seemed unattainable, a wish, a dream. When I would listen to music and hear a piano solo, I would quietly wish that I knew how to play it. My love for the piano grew over the years but learning how to play still seemed a foreign concept. On my 41st birthday, my wife and mother-in-law gave me the gift of music. I had no idea how much I needed this and how it would set my life in a new direction. Over time, my puppy-love for the piano deepened into a passionate, soulful connection.
As an adult beginner, I truly understand what it feels like to start fresh at the instrument later in life and I bring that unique perspective to my teaching. I value music education and the importance of learning to read music and musical vocabulary. I am excited to share my passion for teaching through my love of the piano. I draw on diverse musical influences for inspiration. However, I’m comfortable with all styles - from rock, to classical, to blues and pop. I understand that the unifying thread for approaching all styles is knowing the basic vocabulary used among all musicians and the ability to read music. This opens the door to all worlds in the musical universe.
I’m excited to be a part of your musical journey, it is my sincere hope for my students to feel the same joy that music gives me. All age ranges of beginner students are welcome. It's never too late to start lessons.
